The IMRO Board of Directors has been hard at work developing the IMRO Special Interest Group (SIG) which will be featured within the MRA Web site. The IMRO SIG is dedicated to providing a forum for interactive researchers to discuss new and upcoming trends in technology, interactive marketing research concepts, practices and information to promote discussion of best practices and professional standards in online research. The goal of the IMRO SIG is to empower members to become more educated. This is to be a safe place for members to connect and share experiences with like-minded researchers. We hope you enjoy visiting the community, return often and become an active member and frequent contributor. We’ll send out additional details about the IMRO SIG including member and usage guidelines as we near launch.

The IMRO Technology committee is hard at work on a case study with regards to how qualitative research can be enhanced by using social media as a part of a study design. This case study will utilize such social media sites as Facebook, Twitter and public blogs, along with online qualitative bulletin board and face to face groups. There is also a discussion of doing a case study with regards to how quantitative research can be conducted using social media sites as well as best practices for this new methodology.
